Dorothy "Nanny" Butcher Watson

Mrs. Dorothy Butcher Watson, 84, beloved wife, mother and ""Nanny"", died peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2014. She was born January 6, 1930 to Flossie Wagoner Butcher and John Pleas Butcher. Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James J. Watson; a daughter, Debbie; a son, Roger; a son-in-law, Ronnie and nine siblings. Surviving are two daughters, Diane and Janice (Mike); a daughter-in-law, Sandra; grandchildren, Staci (Jeff), Dawn (Kenny), Jesse, Stephen and Michael; great grandchildren, Emily, Mackenzie, Allan, Connor and Montana; a brother, Bill (Louise) and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
