Dorothy Weichman

Dorothy Williams Weichman went to join her Lord and Savior on December 31, 2018 at the age of 97.  Dorothy was born in May 1921, to E.H. and Frieda Williams in Plainfield, NJ.  She received her BA from the University of Indiana, and after serving in the Red Cross during WWII, her Masters from the University of Cincinnati. She will be remembered as a loving wife, an awesome Mom and an outstanding role model and teacher of her High School students.  Even in 2018, Dorothy was in contact with students from the North College Hill High School graduating class of 1954.  And when the Class of ‘54 set up a scholarship fund in 2004, the first scholarship was given out in her honor. Dorothy never understood how she touched people’s lives.  She was always humbled to know how her family and the people she came in contact with for any length of time, wanted to gain her approval and respect.  She would tell you that her only real goal was to walk with the Lord.  Those of us privileged enough to know her, would tell her that she succeeded. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ross and Ben Williams.  Her loving husband and soul mate, Randall (Ranny) Weichman.  She is survived by her children, Susan Weichman of Winston-Salem and John (Tad) Weichman and his wife Tracy of Pinellas Park, Florida. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, when her children take her home to Indiana to be with Ranny and the rest of her family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the North College Hill Scholarship Foundation (or Just NCH Scholarship Foundation), 1731 Goodman Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45239.The gift can be designated for Dorothy Smith Weichman.
