Mr. Douglas Ray Earls, 47, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 after an extended illness.

Doug was born June 23, 1969 in Forsyth County. A proud member of the U.S. Air Force, he served in Operation Desert Storm. During his time with the Air Force, Msgt. Earls served in many capacities. He worked as a Crew Chief, a Military Police Officer, and was a member of the Dover Air Force Base Honor Guard. A highly decorated airman, he received many commendations including the Air Force Commendation Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal. In his personal life, Doug enjoyed computers, technology and cars but above all was a devoted family man. His family came first, and they will fondly remember him as a positive and loyal husband, father, and grandfather.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Sharon Mullins Earls; children, Anthony Moyer and wife Kayla, Christopher Moyer and wife Abi, Stephanie Earls, and Ashton Earls; grandchildren, Anthony Moyer, Jr., Noah Moyer, Tristan Moyer, Zane Moyer, and Christopher Moyer, Jr.; and brother, Christopher Todd Earls.

A private family service will be held.
