Douglas Saunders, Sr.

Mr. Douglas Lee Saunders, Sr., 63, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017. Doug was born May 20, 1954 in Mercer County, WV to the late Arthur and Ruby Saunders. He was a member of Winston-Salem First Seventh-day Adventist Church. In his free time, Doug was an antique dealer and enjoyed selling his items at different flea markets in the area. He also enjoyed designing jewelry and was a silversmith. Doug is survived by his children, Douglas Lee Saunders, Jr., Kelly Duffy, Tina Priest, Tara Moser, Travis Snider, John Pursley, Maggie Fitzgerald, Bobby Gene Saunders, Cavalla Joy Saunders, and Cimarron Rose Saunders; brother in law, William Burcham, Sr.; nephew, William Burcham, Jr.; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of Doug's life will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Winston-Salem First Seventh-day Adventist Church. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 9, 2017, at Woodland Cemetery. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family of Mr. Saunders.
