Douglas Wayne Stutts

Douglas Wayne Stutts, 89, of Forsyth County, was born on June 25, 1936, and passed away on September 10, 2025.

Douglas lived a full and meaningful life, marked by strength, perseverance, and the simple joys he held dear. His fighting spirit first became evident when he was just seven years old, and that resilience carried him throughout his life.

An avid golf player, Douglas found great pleasure in spending time on the course. He also had a love for dogs and cats, treating every animal with kindness and affection. Photography was another passion of his, and he enjoyed capturing the world through his lens as one of his favorite pastimes.

Music and the outdoors also played a special role in his life. He loved listening to country music, heading out on fishing trips, and enjoying peaceful days by the beach. These simple pleasures reflected Douglas’s appreciation for life’s beauty and his desire to spend meaningful moments with family and friends.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Minnie Stutts; two brothers, Keith and Skippy; and sisters, Sybil and Mildred.

He is survived by his loving wife, Roberta of 69 years of marriage; daughter, Lynn; grandchildren, Amy Norwood (Ashley)  and Rachel Kiel (Aaron); step-grandson, Duck Gunter; and Jessica Gunter; great-grandchildren, Jameson Kiel, Beckett and McClain Gunter (Mack).

Douglas will be remembered for his love of life, his sense of humor, and the warmth he shared with those who knew him.

A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 10 am Monday September 29, 2025 at Hayworth Miller Chapel Silas Creek. Lunch to follow at Cagney's Kitchen  11426 Old US Hwy 52 in Midway,NC 27107.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Moravian Church 919 W. Academy Winston Salem, NC 27101.
