Dr. Larry Lamar Blue

LEWISVILLE, NC-Dr. Larry Lamar Blue, 83, of Lewisville, NC, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Dr. Blue was born on July 31, 1930 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Lawrence Elnathan Blue and Snelda Hoffman Blue. Larry served his country in the United States Army after he finished high school. Following his military service, Larry received a Bachelor's Degree in Statistics from Machester College in Indiana, a Master's Degree in Education from Ball State University and a Doctorate in Education from Indiana University where he also worked as a professor. Dr. Blue was a former principal of Coesse High School in Columbia City, Indiana and the Superintendent of Fairview School District in Skokie, Illinois before his retirement. Preceding Dr. Blue in death along with his parents are his wife, Verda Mae Slain Blue. Dr. Blue is survived by two sons, Lyle Andrew Blue (Catherine) of Sylva, NC and Larry Allen Blue (Lisa) of North Potomac, MD; one daughter, Loree Blue-Powell (Frank) of Lewisville, NC; grandchildren, Brette Powell, Margret ""Lizzie"" Powell, Demi Blue, Anna Blue, Andy Blue, and Ally Blue.
