Dr. Wilbur Peter Hollar

Kernersville- Dr. W. P. Hollar, DC passed away Tuesday December 16, 2025, at his residence. He was born January 31, 1941, in Elkhart, IN, the son of Wilbur Glenn and Joyce Gallay Thurman. Dr. Hollar was a member of Kernersville Seventh Day Adventist Church, where he has served as a Deacon and an Elder. In his High School days, Dr. Hollar was an active sports player and was a valuable team member on the wrestling, track, and football teams. He was a member of the North Carolina and National Chiropractic Associations and had practiced for over 52 years with 43 years being in Kernersville. Dr. Hollar enjoyed going to the gym, hiking, camping, shooting, and planting in his garden. A fun-loving person who loved to joke around, he would help anyone that needed it.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Carol, who passed in 2009.

Survivors include his children, Tim Hollar (Kimber) of Moneta, VA. and Trish Head of Kernersville; two grandchildren, MaKayle Hollar of Moneta, VA and Chis Head (Grace) of Winston-Salem and a brother, James Hollar of Huntington, IN.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Kernersville Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Jorge Diaz and Pastor Ralph Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery on Gralin St. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to the Kernersville Seventh Day Adventist Church at 896 Old Winston Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Hollar Family.
