Drema Leigh Tyler Choplin, 59, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on July 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, joy, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Born on June 13, 1966, to Claimon and Peggy Tyler, Drema was the kind of person whose presence could light up any room. She was a devoted mother, loving partner, proud grandmother, cherished sister, and a treasured friend to many.
She is survived by her three beloved children: Audrey (Jeff), Sydnee (Gunnar), and Garrett (Chloe); her stepdaughter, Whitney, whom she loved as her own; and her longtime love and soulmate, Tracey Hiatt, who stood faithfully by her side through life’s journey.
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, Logan and Izabella, who brought laughter, light, and pride into her life every single day.
She also leaves behind her loving brothers: Michael (Kacie), Junior, and Scotty (Elizabeth), along with many dear nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will miss her deeply.
Drema lived with a full and open heart. She was joyful, funny, spirited, and full of unconditional love — the kind of love that wrapped around you like a warm hug and never let go. She found her greatest happiness in simply being with her family — talking, laughing, cooking, or just sitting together on a sunny day. Her children and grandchildren were truly the heart of her world.
She had a gentle and gifted touch with growing things — whether it was in her beautiful flower beds or in the tender relationships she cultivated. Her garden was a reflection of her soul: vibrant, colorful, and lovingly cared for. Working in her flowers brought her a quiet peace, and she delighted in seeing beauty bloom all around her.
Of all the things she held dear, none meant more to her than her beloved dog, Ginger. Their bond was special and true, a quiet companionship full of loyalty and love. Ginger was never far from Drema’s side and will continue to carry her spirit forward.
Drema’s passing has left a deep and painful void, but her spirit will live on in every flower that blooms, in every burst of laughter, and in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her. Her life was a beautiful example of love in action — a love that will never fade.
A celebration of life will be held from 5:00 ~ 8:00pm on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Konnoak Moravian Church.
