Mr. Drewy Dwight Walker, 85, of Winston Salem passed away Friday, September 7, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Mr. Walker was born May 27, 1927 in Forsyth County to the late William Martin, Sr. and Eliza Wilner Walker. He was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church and was retired from Pepsi Cola with 27 years of loyal service until his retirement. He and his wife then worked for Gospel Light Christian Camp and later resided at Joy Ranch in Woodlawn, Va. He loved tractors, trains and bulldozers. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Doris Ransom Walker; one daughter-in-law, Jackie Walker; two brothers Gary and Billy, one sister, Virginia Blackley. He is survived by two sons , Michael D. Walker and wife, Judy of Winston Salem and Jerry Walker and wife Brenda of Winston Salem; three brothers, Bobby E. Walker, Jr. and wife Rita of Kernersville, Charles Walker and wife Peggy of Mocksville and W.M. Walker of Winston Salem; two sisters, Cheryl Walker and Janice Jarrett and husband Robert of Winston Salem. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Monday at 2:00P.M. September 10, 2012 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at the church. Memorials may be made to Gospel Light Christian Camp.
