Dr. G. Dimarco

Dr. G. Robert DiMarco, 91, of Lewisville passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on July 31, 1927 in Camden, NJ to Luigi and Carmella D’Andrea DiMarco. Dr. DiMarco was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church since 1982. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army. He was awarded Young Man of the Year in 1962 in S. Brunswick, NJ and was President of the Board of Education in S. Brunswick, NJ. Dr. DiMarco earned his PhD from Rutgers University and eventually became the Chairman of the Food Science Department. He was Director of R&D at General Foods in White Plains, NY and retired as Senior Vice President of R&D at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Dr. DiMarco was awarded the Rutgers Medal in 2004. He volunteered at Samaritan Soup Kitchen, Catholic Social Services, Second Harvest Food Bank, and Almost Home Ministry. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Reggimenti. Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Mary DiMarco; five children, Ann Marie DiMarco and husband Joseph Donovan, Lynn Mary Memoli and husband Michael, Robert Louis DiMarco and wife Dorte Jensen; Diane Maria DiMarco and husband Michael Heyman, David Michael DiMarco and wife LouAnn; seven grandchildren, Gabriella Melson and husband Jack, Louise, Mackenzie, McCall, and Kelsey DiMarco, Anna and Katherine Memoli; two sisters, Christine Pallante and Rose Kreps; one brother, Louis DiMarco; several nieces and nephews.
