Eb Clifton

Mr. Eb Clifton, 91, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at his home. He was born in Surry Co. on January 9, 1927 to the late Thomas and Helen Clifton. Eb had a special passion for racing, which spread throughout the racing community for many years. He was one of the first members of NASCAR and was a WWII veteran. Eb was loved by his family, friends and the racing community and will be missed greatly by all who knew him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Brewer Clifton; and a special brother "Fuzzy". He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Shore; his grandchildren, Ben Brown (Paige) and Tim Brown (Meghan); and great-grandchildren, Brittney, Kaitlyn, Nathan and Cam Brown. A celebration of life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Rural Hall Christian Church, 280 Rural Hall- Bethania Rd., Rural Hall, NC 27045.
