Edera Lenora Robertson Childress

Edera Lenora Robertson Childress, 89, of Clemmons, passed away Friday, August 1, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center.

Mrs. Childress was born October 14, 1935, in Forsyth County, to Henry Robertson and Ethel Waller Robertson. In addition to her parents, Edera was preceded in death by her husband, George Ray Childress; her son, Clifford Ray Childress; her grandson, Mitchell Wayne Childress; and six siblings.

Left to cherish her memory are one son, George Steven Childress (Karen); two daughters, Wanda Jane Joyner, and Georgia Theile; daughter in-law, Linda Childress; seven grandchildren, Chris Joyner (Sue), Tony Joyner (Jaime), Kimberly Lanning (Keith), Candy Childress (Travis), Stevie Childress, Carrie White (Steven), and Zachary Theile (Courtney); and nine great-grandchildren, Daniel, Jackson, Sophia, Raegan, Ian, Tanner, Corey, Sarah, and James; two brothers, Michael Robertson, and Jerry Robertson. Also surviving are many other family members from both the Robertson and Childress side of the family.

A funeral service will be held 2 PM Monday, August 4, 2025, at Advance First Baptist Church with Pastor Bob McCaskill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
