Edith S. Chaffin

Mrs. Edith S. Chaffin, 77, of Kernersville, passed away on December 22, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on July 6, 1939 in Bell County, KY to Walter and Mary Hatfield Sowders. She was a member of Dunlap Hollow Baptist Church in Middlesboro, KY. She retired from the food industry with many years of loyal service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Ford Chaffin; one brother, BF Sowders; one sister, Dorthy Johnson. She is survived by three sons, Terry Chaffin of Winston-Salem, Steve Chaffin and wife Michelle of Winston-Salem and Pete Chaffin and wife Gina of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Emily Jamison, Jeff Chaffin, Nikki and Jonathan Chaffin; great grandchildren, Payton and Parker Jamison, Kia and Dorren Chaffin; two sisters, Mae Duncan and husband Norman of Middlesboro, KY and Fay Langford of Middlesboro, KY; one brother, Earl Sowders and wife Nina of Barbousville, KY, and last but not least, Zoey, her special four-legged friend. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
