Edith Mayes

Mrs. Edith Ilene Whicker Mayes, 88, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County, on July 21, 1932 to the late Charlie Wilburn Whicker and Agnes Roberta Whicker. Edith retired from Binkley Realty and Insurance company.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Gray Mayes, and her sister, Edna Whicker Mayes.  She is survived by her devoted daughter, Karen Mayes Andrews, a special former son-in-law, Bill Lemons, one Aunt Ruth Granger, and her two fur babies at home.   A private graveside service will be held at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local Humane Society.
