Edith Pearl Turner, 97, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Arbor Acres. She was born October 16, 1915 to Lenora Triphina Harris and Kenny Wilson Harris in Montgomery County, but was a life-long resident of Winston-Salem, NC. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Delette Harris Alred, Jean Harris Fromal; her brothers, Dwight Harris and James Harris; and her daughters, Deborah Elaine Turner and Judy Lenora Martin. Survivors include her daughter, Marsha Jean Gallins (Harry); her grandchildren, Steve Eaton (Teresa), Ellis Martin, Jessica Gallins and Charlotte Gallins; and two great grandchildren, Stephanie Eaton and Emily Martin. Though ill much of her later years, Edith lived a very full life, continuously surrounded by family and close friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A private family graveside service will be held Thursday.
