Edmund John Govern Sr

Mr. Edmund John Govern Sr., 85, passed away at his home Friday, June 16, 2017. He was born January 29, 1932 to the late Walter Govern and Sophia Koval Govern. Mr. Govern proudly served his country in the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was precede in death by his wife, Mary Yates Govern and son, Dwayn Govern. Mr. Govern is survived by two sons, Edmund John Govern Jr. and Byron Keith Govern; one daughter, Terri Creed and husband Davis; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise Connor. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 20, at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday, June 19 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
