Edrie Brunt

Ms. Edrie Greene Brunt passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends, on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the "young" age of 80. She was the 5th child of Dr. and Mrs. G.V. Greene of Davie County, being the Baby of the family. Growing up in Fork, NC, she graduated from Mocksville High School and was an active member of The Episcopal Church of The Ascension. She furthered her education at High Point College where she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. Edrie spent 39 years in the health care profession, working for several prominent doctors in Winston-Salem. She was also a faithful member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church. While Edrie was previously married, she spent 30 wonderful years with Bob Colley. In addition to her parents, Edrie is preceded in death by her sister, Lucy Foard Greene Hubbard, brother Gene Harris Greene and his wife, Lib Greene, and brother G.V. "Bob" Greene. She is survived by her sweet sister Carmen Greene Price of Maitland, Florida, and sister-in-law Joyce Greene of Colfax, North Carolina, as well as loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many adoring friends. Edrie's family greatly appreciates the loving care and friendship of Brenda Hackett, along with the wonderful nurses at Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 25th, at 2:00PM at New Philadelphia Moravian Church, followed by burial in God's Acre at the church. Edrie's family will receive friends in the fellowship hall afterwards. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Episcopal Church of The Ascension, 183 Fork Bixby Road, Advance, NC 27006, or the charity of the donor's choice.
