Mr. Edward Turner Ernest, 90, passed away December 30, 2018 at home. He was born in Forsyth County on January 15th, 1928 to Bertha Teague Ernest and Grover Allen Ernest. He was a charter member of Parkway Baptist Church and currently a member of Konnoak Baptist Church. Mr. Ernest served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at Roy Setzer's Hardware for 32 years. He loved being outside working in his yard. He was a selfless, supportive, and compassionate man who dearly loved his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Turner was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie Ernest who passed in 2004, as well as six brothers and four sisters. Surviving him are his daughter Debra Cloer and her husband Warren, granddaughter Vikki Cloer Heaney, husband Eddie and great granddaughters Savannah, Emma and Abigail Heaney as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, January 4, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Stephen James officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the staff of Trellis Supportive Care for the exceptional care and compassion Turner received from them.
