Edward Gregory

Edward Michael “Mickey” Gregory, 86, passed away on March 3rd, 2023, at Arbor Acres in Winston-Salem. He was born on September 27th, 1936, to Ted and Mary Gregory in Port Angeles, WA.  Mickey grew up in Newport News, VA. In 1968 while working at NASA Langley Field he was recruited by NCSU to run their new electron microscope lab, a career he stayed with until retirement. He spent his remaining years working with the NC Museum of History and living life to the fullest. He was a kind-hearted Renaissance man with an ornery streak and a talent for being charming.  Mickey is survived by his son Edward Michael Gregory, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Cary, son Stephen Patrick Gregory and wife Lynn of Floyd, VA, and daughter Anne-Marie Gregory Suddreth and husband Scott of Fort Collins, CO. He is also survived by grandchildren Emma Gregory, Anneka and Roman Suddreth, and Keri and Jeremy Moorefield. He is survived by his sisters Annette Woods of Friendswood, TX, Sheila Gainer of Smithfield, VA, and Maureen Gregory of Seabrook, TX.  There will be no formal services at this time.
