Edward Allen Lammando

Edward Allen Lammando, 68, of Pfafftown, NC passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, in Durham, NC after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Harrisburg, PA, Ed spent 64 wonderful years in Hummelstown, where he built a life defined by kindness, laughter, and deep love for his family and friends.

Ed never met a stranger. His warmth and generosity touched everyone he encountered. Whether it was helping a neighbor, sharing a joke, or cooking up one of his famous meals—homemade pizza, Swedish meatballs, Navajo fry bread, or wings—Ed made people feel welcome and cared for.

He was a devoted husband to Marcia, his wife of 40 years, and a proud father to daughters Casey Maciej (Chris) and Morgan. His greatest joy came from being “G-dog” to his grandson, Luca Edward, with whom he shared a special bond racing RC cars and creating lasting memories.

Ed was a passionate sports fan, cheering on the Phillies and—bravely—the New York Jets. He found joy in music, attending Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, and Doobie Brothers concerts with Morgan. His life was rich with simple pleasures and meaningful connections.

He often said his greatest accomplishment was having a family, and he lived that truth every day. Ed’s legacy is one of love, humor, and unwavering kindness.

He would not want us to be sad. He would want us to celebrate, to laugh, and to share stories of joy. He is no longer in pain—he is made whole.

In true Ed fashion—he requested no mourning colors at his service. Only bright colors, or anything Jimmy Buffett would wear, as “it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere”.

Services will be held Wednesday, October 1st at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 with receiving of friends from 11AM-12PM, followed by a small service. Burial will take place immediately after at Vogler Funeral & Cremations at Forsyth Memorial Park, with lunch to follow. A Celebration of Life will be planned in Pennsylvania at a later date; details to come.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Ed’s name.
