Edward John Markushewski Sr.

Edward John Markushewski, of Winston-Salem, passed away quietly at his home on September 12, 2026.

Born in 1930 in Radzillow, Poland (now Radyvyliv, Ukraine), “Ed”, newly graduated from university and just married, settled in Winston-Salem in 1955, working first with Western Electric and retiring from Sara Lee. He was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Katherine Mae Markushewski (née Emerson), and his parents, Jan and Maria Przebykowska Markushewski.

He is survived by his children, Edward John Markushewski, Jr., W. Thomas Markushewski, and Katherine Markushewski Knaus, and their families, as well as his brother, Leonid Markushewski, and his family.

A funeral mass will be held 12PM Monday, September 21, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller, Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park.
