Reidsville, NC - Edward Franklin Myers, 93, passed away Saturday morning, February 7, 2026, at Wesley Long Hospital after a brief illness. Edward was born on December 30, 1932, in Winston Salem. He was the first of two children born to the late Edith Smith Myers and Neil Franklin Myers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Ruby Taylor Myers. Edward’s career was with Pepsi Bottling Company in Winston Salem where he retired as Syrup Master after 33 years of service. He was a faithful member of the Rural Hall Christian Church for over 50 years. Edward is survived by his sister, Barbara Stone Yardman Davis of Reidsville, his nephews Randal Stone and wife, Sylvia, of Greensboro, Timothy Stone and wife, Lynn, of Eden, and his niece Pamela Stone Shelton and husband, Steve, of Cary. Additionally, Edward is survived by his great nephews McCarthy Shelton, wife Amanda, of Raleigh, and Dr. Jack Shelton and wife, Mani, of Tallahassee, Florida. He is also survived by many cousins.
A memorial service will be held at the end of Worship Service Sunday morning, February 15, 2026, at Rural Hall Christian Church, 280 Bethania-Rural Hall Road, Rural Hall NC 27045. The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Memory Care in Reidsville for their care over the past 3 years, as well as the dedicated Hospice staff that served him since October of 2025.
