Edwin Gray Darnell

LEXINGTON- Edwin ""Gray"" Darnell, 79, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016. He was born August 7, 1936 in Surry Co. to the late Clarence and Mattie Royal Darnell. Edwin attended Life Impact Church of God of Prophecy in Winston Salem. He owned and operated D&R TV repair in Winston Salem for over 30 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Estelle Hicks; and brother, Herman Darnell. Surviving are his wife, Doris New Darnell of the home; son, Chris Darnell of Winston Salem; sister, Frances Wall of Elkin; brother, Leo Darnell of Elkin; sister-in-law, Patsy Rhodes and husband, Sam of Winston Salem. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Billy Norris officiating. Entombment will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. The family will receive friends from 10:00 -10:45a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
