Edwin "Ed" Brooks Linville, Sr.

Edwin “Ed” Brooks Linville, Sr. 78, of Lewisville, NC passed away peacefully at Forsyth Medical Center, Palliative Care, in Winston-Salem. He was a devoted husband and father to his family, a loving, kind, and generous soul who knew the Lord. Ed was saved many years ago and saw the importance of his family also knowing the Lord. He also led his younger brother to the Lord. He took his family to church every time the doors were open, often picking up his invalid Mother as well. He was a member of the choir at his home church-Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown, NC. He was a “Jack of all trades” but ‘a master of none.” He also loved hunting with his brother-in-law and had a souped up ‘57 Chevrolet that he loved tinkering with when he and his wife were dating. He retired from RJR Tobacco Co. from the machine shop after 38.5 yrs. He once received recognition for a suggestion on an idea to better improve the workflow in the shop, saving the company money. He is survived by his wife, Janet Ford Linville, (married 57 yrs), his children Edwin B. Linville, Jr., Christine Linville, Matthew Linville (Janet) and granddaughter Autumn Grace Linville (mother, Angie), brothers-in-law, Bill Ford (Bunny), Rick Ford (Martha), sisters-in-law, Nancy Linville (Gray) and Pam Linville (Ronnie), and all their children. Preceding him in death were his parents, Patsy Doris Linville, and Joseph Gray Linville, Sr.; brothers, Ronald Linville and Joseph Gray Linville, Jr.

Memorials should be made to the Palliative Care at Forsyth Medical Center. The family will receive friends at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel Saturday, August 1, 2-4 pm. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
