Elaine Stewart Jackson, 73, of Kernersville, North Carolina, passed away on May 22, 2026, due to cardiac arrest. Born on June 6, 1952, in Raleigh, North Carolina, Elaine lived a life full of warmth, curiosity, and deep love for the people around her.
Elaine was the daughter of Zebulon and Rosa Stewart. She grew up in Raleigh, where she pursued higher education at Wake Technical Community College and earned two associate degrees in Environmental Conservation.
Those who knew Elaine would tell you she never met a stranger. She was kind, generous, and wonderfully talkative, the sort of person who could strike up a conversation with anyone.
Elaine enjoyed scrapbooking and quilt making, crafting beautiful keepsakes for those she loved. Each project was made with the same care and generosity that defined everything she did.
Elaine is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Jackson; her beloved daughters, Renee Jackson and Nancy Miller (Glen); cherished grandchildren Caitlyn, Sarah and Owen Miller; siblings, Dennis Stewart and Tracie Stewart . She was preceded in death by her parents, Zebulon and Rosa Stewart.
Elaine's faith was a steady presence in her life, and her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the arms of her Creator. As it is written in Ecclesiastes 12:7, "And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it."
Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Elaine's life at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, located at 3950 Macy Grove Road, Kernersville, NC 27284, on May 30, 2026, from 2 to 4 pm.
