Elizabeth Ann Cook Slate

Elizabeth Ann Cook Slate, 92, of Jamestown, NC went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the Hospice of the Piedmont. She was born to the late Silas Edward Cook and Nannie Manring Cook on May 4, 1934, in Forsyth County.

Elizabeth retired from the Myrtle Desk Company after a long career. She later came out of retirement to continue working at AMP incorporated.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lee Otis Slate; granddaughter, Amanda Neese; and siblings, Rosie Church, Minnie Crews, Mary Stevenson, Henry Cook, Sid Cook, Calvin Cook, Wesley Cook, and Bill Cook.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Neese; son, Gary Slate (Candy); grandson, Ross Neese (Tonya); great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Bunn (Jared), Madison Stratton, and Hunter Stratton; great great-grandchildren, Kadon Stratton, and David Bunn; and brother, Herbert Cook and many special nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Kernervsille Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the funeral home. Officiating the service is Pastor Gary Blaylock, Pastor Bill Watson, and Pastor Paul Mustian. Interment will follow the service at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.
