It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Elizabeth “Betsy” Ganelle Myers, Saturday, April 4, 2026. She was born on December 31, 1948, in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Samuel Edward Myers and Wilma Ganelle Fogleman Myers.
Betsy was a graduate of Parkland High School and earned a Bachelor of Science from University of North Carolina Charlotte and Master of Business Administration at Florida State University. At UNCC she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She retired from Hanes Brand Marketing after 29 years of service. Betsy was a Founding Member in 2003 of the Boston Terrier Rescue of North Carolina (BTRNC) and is a Past President. The Rescue started in North Carolina and now includes South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, and Maryland. She fostered and owned over forty Boston Terriers, including caring in her home for many with behavior or health difficulties and arranging for adoption. In her twenty-three service years, she strived and had a part to countless dogs finding a loving owner and forever home.
During her health decline, she was lovingly supported by a care team led by April Chance, including Jill Lemons and Shannon Gray and devoted friends Louise Britt, Debbie Bruemmer, Claire Gabbard, John Hoemann, Howard Upchurch, and the Staff of AuthoraCare Greensboro Office.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Boston Terrier Rescue of North Carolina, C/O Claire Gabbard, 4172 Lakeshore Road, Deckerville, MI 48472.
