Elizabeth "Lib" Spach Smith

Mrs. Elizabeth “Lib” Spach Smith, 93, passed away on August 20, 2024. She was born to the late Robah Aaron Spach and Virginia Ebert Spach in Forsyth County, NC. Lib was the youngest of seven siblings, and the only daughter. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Carmel Methodist Church and taught Sunday school for over 40 years. Everyone lovingly knew her as Mrs. Lib. She was very active in the church, making sourdough funeral bread for the services in the church. After meeting the love of her life, Spug, on a blind date they were married soon after. She loved to travel, both in the US and on trips with Christian Tours. When Lib wasn’t at church or on a tour, she was an avid reader.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband and her six brothers.

Lib is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Mike) McGlamery; grandson, Clint (Celia) McGlamery; and great grandson, Nolan, he affectionately referred to Lib as “My Nana”.

The family would like to extend their extreme gratitude to the staff at Vienna Village for their phenomenal care and love they showed to Lib during her time there.

A graveside service will be held on Friday August 23, 2024, at 11am with Mrs. Jean C. Harris officiating. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Mt. Carmel Methodist Church, 4265 Ebert Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
