Elizabeth Vandiver O'Neal

Elizabeth Vandiver O'Neal, 61, passed away unexpectedly on May 10, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. She was born May 21, 1950 in Forsyth County to Marvin L. Vandiver and Anne Cruywels Vandiver. She was a graduate of Parkland High School and received her diploma in Practical Nursing at Forsyth Technical Community College. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and was currently employed by Industries for the Blind. Elizabeth was formerly employed at Oak Summit Nursing Center as a Nursing Supervisor. She was an avid KISS fan and will always be remembered as very outgoing, friendly and boisterous to all she met. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin L. Vandiver and her grandmother, Berthe Cruywels. She is survived by her mother, Anne Cruywels Vandiver; a son, Zachary S. O'Neal; a brother, Michael Vandiver and wife Glenda; a sister, Sylvia Vandiver Doub; a nephew, Dustin Doub, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, May 14, 2012 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with the Deacon Rev. Joseph Schumacher officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society, 61 Miller St., Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
