Elizabeth Freeman Stewart

Elizabeth Freeman Stewart, 90, of Clemmons, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 27, 2014. She was born September 4, 1923 to Robert and Nora Freeman. Mrs. Stewart retired from Thalhimer's Department Store and was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Alton Stewart, Sr.; son, Thurman Alton Stewart, Jr.; grandson, Dustin Stewart; two brothers, Clarence and Jasper Freeman and a daughter-in-law, Sandra (Sandy) Young Stewart. Surviving is a son, Robert Stewart (Anne) of Clemmons; five grandchildren, Wendy Wrenn of W-S, Chris Stewart (Jennifer) of Houston, TX, Karen Stewart of Tobaccoville, Jessica Young (Matt) of Cameron, NC and Jason Stewart (Misty) of Norfolk, VA; four great-granddaughters, Margaret, Samantha, Claire, and Madison; also surviving are three sisters, Vivian Gough, Rhumell Pardue, and Connie Snow. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Josh Hill officiating.
