Elizabeth Johnson Wade, 77, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 14, 2025.
Born on September 20, 1947, she was the daughter of the late George Johnson and Edith Jenkins Yaughn.
Elizabeth was a free spirit with a deep love for life's simple joys. She found happiness in painting, swimming, fishing, dancing, and trips to the beach. She especially loved watching scary movies and sharing laughs with family. A devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones and made everyone around her feel heard and cared for.
Known for her kind heart, listening ear, and timeless advice, Elizabeth had a gift for making people feel special. In her younger years, she was the life of the party—full of laughter, energy, and a contagious zest for life.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Mullis.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Ken Wade; two sons, Clint Yaughn (Donna) and Jay Yaughn (Lisa); three grandchildren, Brittany Johnson (Jeremiah), Gunnar Yaughn (Sarah), and Rainey Yaughn; and four great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Johnson, Eva Johnson, Izaiah Johnson, and Emery Yaughn. Also surviving is her sister, Patty Halverson (Don).
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel, with Rev. David Aldridge officiating.
Elizabeth’s memory will live on through the many lives she touched with her warmth, wisdom, and unshakable joy.
