Mr. Elmo Garfield Sidden, 80, went to be with the Lord Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born May 11, 1936 in Forsyth County to the late Stella Sparks Sidden and William Edward Sidden. Mr. Sidden was a devoted Christian and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in King. He retired from R. J. Reynolds with 30 years of service and worked at Pinebrook Grocery Store for 14 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sidden was preceded in death by one brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Olivia Thompson Sidden; children: Tiana Sidden Stevens (Mike), Scott Sidden, Connie Lynn Caldwell (Neil), Carla Elaine Burcham (Rodney); grandchildren: Kristin Stevens Martin (Gregg), Jonathan Stevens (Michela), Brittany Caldwell, Brycen Burcham, and Addison Burcham; great-grandchildren: Carson Stevens, Colton and Cobey Martin; and one brother, J.T. Sidden (Shirley). A funeral service will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, at Calvary Baptist Church in King with Pastor Kevin Broyhill, Pastor Scott Vernon, and Pastor Roger Baker officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 Friday, November 18, at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall.
