GREENSBORO – Elois Knowles Brown passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025 at High Point Regional Hospital, after a brief illness. Elois was born April 6, 1925 in Cumberland County, NC to Lal and Beulah Crumpler Knowles. She married her late husband, Bertram Richard “Pat” Brown on April 20, 1947. She lived a blessed life for over 100 years. After working for many years with the Federal Government, she retired from the Social Security Administration and the Internal Revenue Services. She found herself doing volunteer work for the Gift Shop at Women’s Hospital in Greensboro. Elois was an active member at 16th Street Baptist Church for many years, serving our Lord in capacities such as teaching and service positions. She was also a member at Friendly Avenue Baptist later in life.
Elois was an active member in the Greensboro Women’s Club and Bible Study Groups and loved traveling throughout her life with her husband and friends. She enjoyed going to shows and plays and loved coordinating church banquets and dinners.
Surviving are two daughters, Janelle Brown Mathis (Paul); Nannette Brown Krazmien (Mark); granddaughters, Meridith Mathis and Amanda Mathis (Ricardo Jimenez); great grandchildren, Yago Jimenez Mathis, Miguel Jiminez Mathis, Amaya Jimenez Mathis; step grandchildren, John Krazmien, Ann Krazmien Seiple (Steve), and Robert Krazmien; and step great grandchildren, Nate Duncan, Stevie Seiple, Carson Krazmien, Maison Krazmien, Jaxson Krazmien, and Jameson Krazmien.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be on Monday, December 29, at New Garden Cemetery.
The family extends a special thanks to the doctors, nurses and assistants at High Point Regional Hospital for taking such good care of her in her short time there.
