Elsie Bean

Mrs. Elsie Ree Bowman Bean, 86, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020, at Forsyth Medical Center. Elsie was born in Forsyth County on May 24, 1934, to Charles William and Addie Shouse Bowman. She was an excellent homemaker and enjoyed bowling and yard sales. She loved her church family and attended New Friendship Baptist Church. Above all, she was a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sonnie Bean. Surviving are one daughter, Linda Whitted (Rick); one son, Michael Bean (Joeanne); one granddaughter, Brandy Rogers (Robert); two great-grandchildren, Britnay Rogers and Amberlyn Rogers; and a cherished granddog named Precious. The family will have a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
