Elsie Marshall

Colfax- Elsie Young Marshall, 92, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019. She was born April 13, 1927, in Forsyth County to the late Elias Linville Young and Alma McGee Young. Mrs. Marshall was a long-time member of Colfax Baptist Church. She was a fantastic homemaker who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She found comfort and loved listening to BBN radio.  Elsie loved to laugh and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Reavis Devon “Pete” Marshall; five sisters, Annie Crutchfield, Hazel Morris, Edna Beeson, Opal Flynt and Juanita McCormick; and three brothers, Hubert, Raymond and Clyde Young. Surviving are her son, R.D. Jr, and wife Kempy; daughter, Lisa McLaughlin and husband Doug; three grandchildren, Melanie McLaughlin Linares and husband Brian, Jordan Marshall and wife Megan, and Jason Marshall and wife Caroline; one great-granddaughter, Emersyn Marshall and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 1st, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Phil Kirkman officiating.  Interment will follow at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 10:45 am prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Colfax Baptist Church, 9516 W Market St, Colfax, NC 27235.
