Emily Ford

Mrs. Emily Barnhardt Ford, 83, of Clemmons passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Trellis Supportive Care. She was born in Rural Davie County to the late Olin Lewis and Edna Carter Barnhardt on August 7, 1935. She was a graduate of Shady Grove High School and Draughn’s Business College. She retired from Motors Insurance Corporation after 30 years of service. Emily married George Spencer “Bill” Ford in 1955. Along with her parents, Emily was preceded by her loving husband, George S. Ford in 2005; two brothers, Derry Barnhardt, and Gray Barnhardt. She is survived by two sons, George Samuel Ford and Gregg Spencer Ford (Angela); three grandchildren Joseph (Cindy); Christopher and Austin Ford; sisters, Helen B. Everhart of Clemmons; Ann Barnhardt of Advance and Freda B. Schlaman and husband Eugene of Charlotte; brother, George Barnhardt of Advance; sister in law, Laura Jane Barnhardt; and numerous nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held 4:00pm, Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel with her niece Rev. Emily Schlaman Larsen of St. Andrews Presbyterian and Rev. Paula Northrup of Clemmons United Methodist Church officiating. Family will receive friends 2:00 PM to 3:45 PM.
