Emmett Mitchell Brown, Jr.

Mr. Emmett Mitchell Brown, Jr., 81, went home to be with his Lord and was reunited with the love of his life, on October 18, 2013. He was born on October 7, 1932 the son of the late Emmett Mitchell Brown, Sr. and Ethel Mae Babb Brown. Mr. Brown was of the Baptist faith. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, from where he received the rank of Tech Sergeant. After his retirement from the Air Force, he went to work for Piedmont Airlines and retired from Piedmont with 25 years of service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Doris Jean Brown and a brother-in-law, Lee Williams. Mr. Brown is survived by two daughters, Donna Bodsford (Danny) of Walkertown and Kathleen Lynch (Corey) of Rural Hall, three sons, David Brown (Marci) of Kernersville, Daniel Brown (Ruby) of Mt. Airy and Daryl Brown of Pfafftown, 13 grandchildren and a sister, Sarah Williams of Georgia. Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
