Emory Eugene Prevette

Mr. Emory Eugene ""Gene"" Prevette, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 3, 2017 at The Crest in Clemmons, NC. He was born October 1, 1925 in Roaring River NC and spent most of his life in Clemmons. Gene love to fish and was a Nascar Racing Fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Nan Prevette of Hayes, NC; a brother, J.D. Prevette of Hayes, NC; a sister, Vickey Call of Clemmons and a great granddaughter, Cheyenne Belle Hoots of Mocksville. Surviving is his wife, Mary Pickett Prevette of The Crest of Clemmons; seven children, Barbara Carol Rose (Arnold) of Clemmons, Ken Prevette (Demetra) of Winston-Salem, Vickey Hoots (Robin) of Advance, Joan Hoots (David) of Yadkinville, Dave Pickett (Cindy) of Jacksonville, FL, Diane Westmoreland (Tom) of Lewisville and Marcia Collins (Chris) of Clemmons; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a sister, Mary Sparks (Bill) of Roaring River. Mr. Prevette is a Veteran of the U.S. Army who served our country during World War II and was retired from the former Pilot Freight Company as a truck driver of 35 years. He was a member of Clemmons First Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon, Friday, January 6, 2017 at Clemmons First Baptist Church with Dr. Robbie Phillips and Rev. Scott Hammett officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
