Emory ""Dewitt"" Williamson born on July 19, 1946 in Lumberton, NC passed away to a better life on October 30, 2013. Dewitt was preceded in death by his parents, Emory Williamson and Virginia Carter Williamson, and a brother Larry Williamson. He leaves behind a wife of 41 years Susie Williamson of Myrtle Beach, SC; A daughter Michelle Lail, husband Randy, of Kernersville, NC; A daughter Tammy Fletcher, husband Brian of Kernersville, NC. He leaves behind seven grandchildren Tiffany, Kayla, Ali, TJ, Zach, Ashlei, Jacob and three great grandchildren and a sister, Joyce Ferebee of Mocksville, NC. Dewitt moved to Myrtle Beach, SC when he retired after 33 years of service as a mechanic specialist from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. He resided with his wife at Ocean Lakes Family Campground for the last twelve years where his friends became his extended family. The family would like to thank a host of special friends. To Sandy for stopping by the grocery store, taking care of doctor appointments, medication, and spending hours on the phone just to get things straight and most of all for being there before she was even asked. To a good friend Terry Hill who always rode by to say ""Hello, How are you doing, and can I help?"" To the boys at the golf cart building who always took time out of their day to talk to him. To Gary and Liz Yarborough for their thoughtfulness. To Todd and Tawnya Shreve for their constant support. To Jeff and June Clark, Bob and Maureen Muller for their support To Barry Humphries for his support and thoughtful acts of love and compassion, To Gary and Jane Dickey for their support. Also to all the other many friends from the Spartanburg area for your support and for becoming our Ocean Lakes family. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, located at 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston Salem, NC 27103 on Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 7-9pm. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 3rd at 2:30pm at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 3250 High Point Rd, Winston-Salem, NC with Rev. Bob Whitaker officiating.
