Eric Eugene Ellis

--Eric Eugene Ellis, 40, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Tuesday August 12, 2014 at his home. He was the son of Lynne Avant and David Miller, born on June 4th, 1974 in Forsyth County. Family and friends were Eric's love and joy and spending time with his Daughter Kennedy Ellis. He grew up spending holidays with his family and friends and loved nothing more than to showcase his cooking skills to them all. He also had a deep love for animals and will be missed dearly by his beloved furry friends. He is preceded in death by his beautiful spirit filled mother Lynne Avant; daughter, Nevaeh Lyn Mitchell, and beloved grandparents Bill Avant Jr, Zelner and Ernest Miller Jr of Rural Hall, NC. Eric is survived by his wife and best friend, Brandy Ellis of Winston-Salem; daughter, Kennedy Ellis of Port Charlotte, FL; father, David Miller (Laurie Miller); grandmother Betty Avant of the home; and a wonderful uncle, William Avant (Mary Avant) of Kernersville, NC. He also leaves behind his very special cousin's, Crystal Barber and Ashley Avant, both of Kernersville, NC in addition to many caring relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Freeman Street Baptist Church in Winston Salem, NC with Pastor Bob Whitaker officiating. The family will receive visitors following the service in the fellowship hall of Freeman Street Baptist Church. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family of Mr. Ellis.
