In Loving Memory of Erin Bailey Staunton
Erin was the embodiment of a child “born on the 4th of July” — fiercely independent, intensely competitive, and unafraid to stand up for what she believed was right. She arrived in this world like a bundle of firecrackers, her feisty spirit lighting up every room she entered and fueling every endeavor she pursued.
Within our family, Erin became a teacher in her own way. She showed her parents how God provides an endless supply of love exactly when it’s needed. She taught her sisters how to protect the ones they hold dear, and she taught her big brother how to stand firm when facing someone who never backs down. Her devotion to her siblings was unwavering — she adored her sisters and never hesitated to challenge her brother with that same fiery resolve. Erin’s special bond with her Nana was unmistakable – from their special time as roommates all the way to having Nana fix enough breakfast plates to include the pups!
But above all, Erin will be remembered for her boundless generosity, her warm smile, and the joy she carried so effortlessly. She reminded us that “Dad jokes” are, in fact, real jokes, and she revealed the true meaning behind eating dessert first — a lesson in savoring sweetness whenever life offers it.
As we say goodbye, we hold close the comfort of knowing her spirit remains with us. May she rest in peace, know that her special pets are safe with Grammy and Papa, embrace the role of the heavenly Aunt she was so excited to become, and continue to inspire us to live boldly, love fiercely, and ALWAYS EAT DESSERT FIRST.
A visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel in honor of Erin. The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and understanding during this difficult time of grief.
