Ernestine Jackson

Mrs. Ernestine Lassiter Jackson, 90, of Oak Ridge, NC, passed away on October 23, 2017, at her residence. She was born on February 11, 1927, in High Point, NC to Waite P and Estella M. Wooley Lassiter. She was a member of the LaSertoma club and in the early 1970's, was a pink lady volunteer at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Marvin Jackson, her sisters, Margaret Mitchell and Betty Jane Lashley; her brothers, Joe, Austin and H.G. Lassiter. She is survived by her daughters, Ginger Williamson and husband Nick, and Wanda Whitaker; grandchildren, Phillip Southern, II, Rebecca Moore and Leigh Jones Sturges and four great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 26, 2017, at Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Lisa Wishon officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative CareCenter, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to give a special thanks to Ernestine's hospice care nurses, Mary, Michelle and Teresa.
