Ernestine Terriaco

KERNERSVILLE – Ernestine “Erni” Roberts Terriaco, 65, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, July 18, 2019. Ernie was born on August 27, 1953 in Erwin, TN to Arthur and Sally Roberts.

In addition to her parents, Erni was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Wright.

Surviving are her husband, David Terriaco; her daughter, Teresa Hicks (Eric) of Germanton; her son, Chris Terriaco (Tiffany) of Louisville, KY; five grandchildren, Drew and Ashlyn Hicks; Tyler, Trenton, and Aubrey Terriaco; two brothers, Kenneth Roberts and Allen Roberts; a sister, Christine Tranthum; and parents-in-law, Eugene and Marilyn Terriaco.

She graduated with the class of 1972 at Elizabethton High School in Elizabethton, TN and attended The Cincinnati Bible Seminary (now Cincinnati Christian University) with a pursuit in Christian Education. She loved sports and played collegiate basketball and volleyball; she also coached a girls softball team.

She worked in the banking industry as a teller in Georgia, Florida and North Carolina. Then she worked with Fowler-Jones Beers Construction in Winston-Salem in the accounting department. From 2000-2016, she worked at Walkertown Middle School in the Media Center and then later in the Guidance Department as a clerk.

From 2011 until her death, she lived with Parkinson’s Disease and worked until she became disabled.

Throughout her disease she was active in trying to raise awareness and finances for research into the disease. She also sought ways to help people who were currently dealing with the disease. This led her to the Parkinson’s Foundation and the Hamil-Kerr Challenge (Jamestown).

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2019 at The Summit Church in Kernersville with Pastor Ike Patterson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
