Espen Maclean Hafkey

Espen Maclean Hafkey, 26, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 17^th, surrounded by his loving family. Espen was born December 31^st, 1997, at Forsyth Medical Center. An avid musician since childhood, he was both an accomplished drummer and self-taught guitarist with a passion for classic R&B, blues, and modern rock. Espen attended Salem Baptist Christian School and was a graduate of West Forsyth High School (‘16) and Appalachian State University (‘21) where he earned a BS in Psychology.

Espen is survived by his mother, Leigh (Hockaday) Hafkey; his father, Colin; sister, Kirsten; maternal grandparents, Roger and Brenda Hockaday; paternal grandmother, Sandra Hafkey; his father’s sister, Jennifer Steiner; father’s brother, Erik Hafkey; and numerous cousins.

Espen’s family invites you to a celebration of his life on Saturday, March 2^nd at 2:00 PM in the fellowship hall of Hope Moravian Church, 2759 Hope Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
