Eugene Mcgee

Mr. Eugene "Gene" William McGee, 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on October 22, 1938 in Forsyth Co. to William Lee and Allie Lee McGee. Gene retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company after 42 years of service. He loved to farm in his two-acre garden and he provided vegetables to many people and businesses in the community. Gene was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved to watch all his grandchildren participate in activities. Gene was very strong in his faith and he passed down his love for Jesus Christ along with his wisdom of gardening to his children.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Jane C. McGee. He is survived by two sons, Ryan Vance McGee and wife Sandy and Jerry Eugene McGee and wife Angela; nine grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one sister, Bonita Hauser; three brothers, Ronald, Harold, and Larry McGee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Gene will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Kate B.
