Eugene Henry Self, Jr.

EH graduated from Hanes High School in 1942 and enlisted in the army. He serve as a Captain in the US Army Aircorps during World War II and attended NC State University, graduating with a degree in Engineering in 1949. He spent his career in insurance and was the principle of EE Shore Insurance Agency in Rural Hall when he retired at age 81. A Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at New Philadelphia Moravian Church. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to New Philadelphia Moravian Church, 4440 Country Club Road.
