Mrs. Eunice Bircher, 80, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Troy, New York on April 16, 1937, to the late John P. Malpass and Mary Fleming Malpass. Eunice was a devout member and daily communicate of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. She had an eye for art and enjoyed painting in her free time. Eunice was a beloved mother and grandmother. Eunice worked at her church for a portion of her life but her most important job was to be a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Bircher. She is survived by her children, Joe Bircher (Lynne Brown) of Winston-Salem, Stephanie Manning of Charlotte, NC, Lisa Larson (Keith) of Chicago, IL, and Susan Crew (Gary) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Dr. Sam Bircher, Shirley Bircher, Cpt. Jack Manning, Grace Manning, Olivia Larson, Charlotte Larson, Henry Crew, and John Crew. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church with Father Brian Cook officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 335 Springdale Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27104. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family of Mrs. Bircher.
