Rachel Hauser

Mrs. Eva Rachel Evans Hauser, 85, sprouted her wings and flew to her heavenly home Thursday, April 6, 2023. She was born December 13, 1937, in Rockingham County to the late John David Evans and Dorothy Nichols Evans. She was a loving wife for 62 years and four months. In addition, she loved her children dearly. Rachel loved Woodland Baptist Church and when she could not attend, she would watch services on live stream. She enjoyed listening to music and was known for dancing. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two sisters, Una Evans Perrell and Cinda Smith. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years and four months; Roland Alexander Hauser, Sr., daughter, Rhonda Ann Hauser; son, Roland Alexander Hauser, Jr. (Monica); sister, Shirley Mitchell; and four brothers, J.D. Evans, Jr. (Kaye), Richard Evans (Bunny), Fred Evans (Brenda), and Keith Evans (Janice); in addition a family friend, Tom Walter, baseball coach for Wake Forest University, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, April 10, 2023, at Woodland Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Gammons and Rev. Mark Leone officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM at the church.
