Evelyn Surles Bechtold

Mrs. Evelyn Surles Bechtold, 86, of Bermuda Run passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born May 20, 1925 in Harnett Co., NC to L.P. and Obie Lewis Surles. She was a member of Clemmons Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Mrs. Bechtold was a member and Past President of P.E.O. International in the West Palm Beach Fl. Chapter. She is survived by her husband, Dr. John. E. Bechtold; two sons, Dr. Robert Bechtold and wife Dr. Judy Brunso-Bechtold, Dr. William Bechtold and wife Dr. Sandra Whaley; two grandchildren, Shane Bechtold and Kressa Sieren and husband Jeffrey and a great granddaughter, Callie Sieren. A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Bermuda Village with Dr. William Hoyle officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to the American Cancer Society, 4A Oak Branch Dr., Greensboro, NC 27407.
