Mrs. Evelyn Farmer Craven, 69, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Evelyn was born on May 9, 1949, in Independence, VA to the late William Claude Farmer and Jessie Hawkins Farmer. She graduated from Independence High School and Winston-Salem Business College. She married Larry "James" Craven on October 25, 1979. James passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center. Evelyn was an administrative assistant at Arista Information Systems until her retirement. She was active in the Amvets Ladies Auxiliary Post 777 until her death. Evelyn is survived by her sister, Barbara F. Snyder (Larry) of Winston-Salem; one nephew, Doug Snyder of Wilmington; brother-in-law, Randy Craven (Mimi) of Greensboro, NC; special aunt, Virginia Hawkins of Independence, VA. She is also survived by special friends, Tina Henderson and Ann Templeton of Winston-Salem. A service to celebrate Evelyn and James' lives will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Kent Kern officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. A private burial will be held later. The family of Mrs. Craven would like to send a special thanks to the nurses and doctors of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center ICU 5(B) for the care they provided to Evelyn in her final days. Her family and friends will miss her deeply but are thankful Evelyn and James are together again in eternity.
